Judaism and Christianity
over the centuries
In the beginning of the Roman Empire the Jews had the same rights as any other citizen. But when Christianity became the state religion under Emperor Constantine at the beginning of the 4th century, Jews were excluded from all public offices and were not allowed to own Christian workers or slaves; later they were also banned from farming and handicrafts. In Hungary, for example, the settlement of Jews was limited to the diocese. There they were allowed to buy goods and the first Jewish communities arose. In Gran, the former capital of Hungary, there was already a large intact Jewish community in 1050. The Jews differed significantly from the Hungarians in language, appearance, disposition, culture, religion and way of life. As a result of life in the Jewish ghetto, this difference was becoming more and more apparent.
The awareness of foreignness in the region led the Jews to create an inner spiritual world supported by their religion. In this way they had preserved their self-esteem in their religious tradition and strengthened the awareness of their unity. Since the Jews were deprived of any connection with the people and the land of the Hungarians, they looked for a home in heaven. This led to the type of ghetto Jew, who was said to have the strength to endure and suffer, the ability to sacrifice himself for his family and the will to survive. But persistence and simplicity also developed through this situation among the Jewish people. All of life was shaped by a love of family and religion. In other words, the Jews lived in two worlds: Hungarian society and Judaism. The emergence of Hasidism gave the rabbi, the scholar of the Torah, a special role. The common Jew was denied the opportunity to have a personal relationship with God. That is why he needed the rabbi, the tzaddik, to mediate his concerns before God. This made an annual visit to the rabbi necessary.
Today the children of these old Eastern Jews have already left this system. Which leaves the question open: How do you come into contact with the Most High, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob? Abraham's children belong to the chosen people no less than Abraham himself. But what about the other races? After all, everyone has the privilege to come to God. And how do you come into contact with God if you are not a Jew? If Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of life after the fall, they would have remained in their sin forever. That would have been very bad. In the state immediately after the fall, they were separated from God and united with the spirit of the serpent. It couldn't stay that way. That is why they were driven out of the Garden of Eden. And that's still the case today. Separated from God and become a child of Satan. See Gospel of John, chapter 8:44. We must therefore state that Jews, who are members of God's people, are separated from God if they do not enter into a personal relationship with God. God now makes a distinction between people and individuals. God went to work for generations teaching his chosen people what sin is and how to make a sacrifice to "cover" sin. Adam and Eve did not know what sin was really doing until Abel's death, and when Seth was born ("replacement," a new beginning in their life) they began to call on the name of the Lord. They understood that they must be redeemed from all that causes sin. And the whole people of the Jews had to learn in Egypt that other people are sinners too. The head of Egypt was absolutely ruthless towards God's demands. He had absolutely no knowledge of the Supreme God, the Creator of heaven and earth. The Egyptians only had their idols.
But
the Jews have also noticed in the course of history that other people also wanted to come to God somehow. A story happened to Jonah where God used Israel to save other people. Something similar
happened with Nebuchadnezzar. He was spoken to by God, punished and also freed again. Nebuchadnezzar knew God. Job could know God. Ruth joined the Jewish people and was able to know God through
the Jewish people. The list of those who found God because there were Jews has grown over the centuries. Blaise Pascal in France was one of them. What is so special about the Jewish people?
"Salvation comes from the Jews". And finally Jesus came, another Jew, who brought salvation, eternal salvation. The resulting Christianity is actually Judaism in a covenant. This covenant is
eternal. It is a covenant that God actually made with himself (Jesus) And through the mediator Jesus with all humanity. Because Jesus stands for the whole of humanity. More precisely: for the
sins of all humanity. Therefore every person can now enter into this covenant. He is already included in this covenant through Jesus. Now, in Jesus, reference is again made to the original human
fall. Jesus is called "second man":
1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man is of the earth and of the earth; the second man is from heaven.
Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn before all creation.
And the sinful man will now put on the new man and be renewed according to the example of Jesus Christ. That is what I hope. In the letter to the Romans it is therefore made very clear that sinful people must reckon with distress and fear when they perform evil. This applies both to the Jew first and to every other human being. But glory and honor and peace come to everyone from God when man does what is good: this applies to Jews as well as to people from the nations. Because before God there is no respect for a person. Whoever has found peace with God in Jesus is a Jew because he is a jew inwardly. For circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter. Seen from this position, the one is not a Jew who is a Jew by descent. Also, the circumcision that takes place on the body is not the actual circumcision. It is only the material image of the inner process. Because man - Jew or pagan - is full of every impurity inside. Because from within - from the heart - the bad things come. And that's where the circumcision has to be done. This is what happens when Jesus comes and takes the place in the heart. So now, in the common belief in Jesus, the difference between Jew and pagan is canceled. The difference between Judaism and Christianity also dissolves in the reception of a new birth from God.
Unfortunately, there was another difference in Christianity: in the reception of the gospel of Jesus. This difference is very reminiscent of the difference between internal and external circumcision. While some say: we have the right faith (whoever believes has eternal life), or they say: I am Catholic (the right), , there are also others, who have experienced something in their faith which Paul also experienced: “You have received a spirit of childhood through which we cry: Abba, dear father! The Spirit itself bears witness to our spirits that we are children of God. " Faith or experience, what you prefer?
However, in Christianity there has again been a difference in the reception of the gospel of Jesus. This difference is similar to that of internal and external circumcision. While some say: I am a Jew (Jews are not lost), others say: we have the right faith (whoever believes correctly has eternal life), others say: I am Catholic (the old original faith), I am Orthodox (traditional) and others have it experienced something (which Paul also experienced): “You have received a spirit of childhood through which we cry: Abba, dear father! The Spirit itself bears witness to our spirits that we are children of God. "
Faith or experience, what you prefer?
Who is the inner man ?
There are different terms. You must not mix them up.
1
There is the new
man
"The new man" is " the man in Christ" . According to Eph.2,15
He has eliminated the law of commandments in statutes in order to create the two - peacemaking - in himself to a new man a new person has been
created.
The new man is "the new creation" according to 2.Cor.5,17
Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things are passed away, behold, new things are become.
The new man is bound to Jesus, for Jesus is "Christ in you" according to Col.1,27
To them God wanted to make known what is the richness of the glory of this mystery among the nations, and that is: Christ in you, the hope of
glory.
According to Eph.4,24 the new man is created according to God,
and attracted the new man, who is created after God in true justice and holiness.
who according to 1.Joh.3,9
Everyone who is born of God does not commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he cannot sin because he is born of God.
cannot sin. And here it can already be seen that the "new man" is not earthly, but is heavenly. Nevertheless, this new creation dwells in the earthly man after
2 Cor 13,5
Or do you not recognize in yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you?
2
The new creation
This new man is the new creation that dwells within us. The new creation is the seed that is imperishable. This new creation in us does not need to be renewed day by day. It is eternally abiding
in us. This new creation is the new man.
There is now this "new man", according to Eph.4,22
that you, as far as the former way of life is concerned, have discarded the old man, who is ruined by deceitful desires,
there is also the „old man“.
The old man lives in the "old nature". The "old man" should not be confused with the first man Adam (from hebrew „Adama“ - from earth). Adam, the first man, was created from the dust of matter. On the other hand, we recognize in the "old man" the essence of corruption and sin.
According to Col.3,9 the
"old man" is supposed to
be taken away
Do not lie to each other, for you have undressed the old man with his actions
and undressed as soon as
we have a "new creation", the new man within us.
If we have the new man in us, then we have the connection to him. But we are not the new man. The new man is CHRIST himself. Christ is the new creation. This is now abiding in us. How we live and
act, what we make of it, that is another thing. How we live is what determines our self. Instead of "the Self" we can also say "the ego", or the personality, or the individual. But Christ in us
is the new man.
3
The inner man
In the connection to the „new man“ and also to the „old man“, the inner man arises. This is the acting human being who carries Christ in himself. This is me, when I am in connection with God.
Such an inner man can have only that man who possesses a new creation. The "inner man" is primarily connected with the spirit of man. This human spirit is stained, is darkened. Through the connection to Christ and His sacrifice, the spirit of man has come into purification through forgiveness, has been purified. His spirit has been renewed.
Because of the defilement, the inner man needs renewal and strengthening day by day. And because the "inner man" has his field of activity in the spirit of man, the renewal takes place in the power of the Holy Spirit. We therefore read in Eph.3,16:
According to the riches of his glory, he gives you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner man;
The inner man has the connection to both natures (1 new creation - 2 old man in sins), which both have their effect in the "inner man". Therefore the „inner man“ is not "the new man“. The new man is Christ himself.
the inner man must be strengthened.
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, - Eph 3,16
This strengthening by power is intended for the transformation of the believer, whereby the actions of the body can be killed Romans 8:13
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if you kill the acts of the body through the Spirit, you will live.
Never is such an increase of power intended for the unbelievers. But as far as the purification of the spirit of man is concerned, let us be taught by our Lord: for out of the old man, out of his heart, come evil thoughts and sins according to Mt 15:19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. 20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
for the heart of man is unclean at first; according to Acts 15:9
and he made no distinction between us and them, because by faith he purified their hearts.
the cleansing of hearts happens through faith, and that is the victory we have: faith. And faith refers to Jesus.
Although the Jew lives under the wonderful divine law, he is naturally under the dominion of sin and death. This is the law that prevails in the old man. Even the law of Moses does not change the dominion of sin.
And there is no salvation, no solution, for this natural man, who is inclined to sin and serves God under the law of Moses.
According to the will of God, the sinful man, Jew or Gentile, should be put in a position to be convicted and convinced. He will then himself proclaim the judgment of death upon himself. And he will agree with God that God is true and judges right.
God pronounced this death sentence on man long ago, back then, on Adam. And when someone recognizes this, that is the hour of birth of the new man. Through grace, God saves the guilty and makes him a just man, a new man. This grace is undeserved. But behind grace is the love of God, which opens a way to sinful man. God loves us very much. Therefore, HE wants no one to be lost and HE does everything to reach the heart of the sinner.
It was said that the "inner man" has his relations to the "new creation in us", but he is not the "new creation" itself. Rather, according to 1.Cor.2,11 the spirit of man takes
For who of men knows what is in man but only the spirit of man that is in him? So no one has known what is in God except only the Spirit of God.
after rebirth a completely new position in us. Every person has a spirit of man; but after salvation, this spirit is brought into a new situation. Let us look at the scripture in 2.Cor.7,1
Now that we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of the flesh and spirit and complete holiness in the fear of God.
God's word speaks there of the defilement of the flesh and the spirit. This ultimately means that when we have sinned in our lives, either the flesh or the Spirit, but usually both, have been defiled.
Therefore, we must purify ourselves again and again. That is why we must always seek the connection to the Lord. We have to talk to the Lord, because if we are separated from Him, we can do nothing.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God!
(Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so there are spiritual laws which govern your relationship with God.)
GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR
LIFE.
(Scripture references contained in this document should be read in context from the Bible whenever possible.)
GOD’S LOVE
Jeremiah 31:3 “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee.”
GOD’S PLAN
Psalm 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Scripture elsewhere calls this a full and meaningful or
abundant life.)
Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his
hand.”
Why is it that most people are not experiencing the abundant
life?
Because
MAN IS SINFUL AND SEPARATED FROM GOD, THUS HE CANNOT KNOW AND EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR HIS LIFE.
(Man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, MITZVAHS, ethics, philosophy, etc.)
MAN IS SINFUL
Ecclesiastes 7:20 ‘For there is not a just man upon the earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” (Soloman)
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness (good deeds) are as filthy rags…”
HOLY GOD – SINFUL MAN
MAN IS SEPARATED FROM GOD
Isaiah 59:1-2 “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your INIQUITIES have SEPARATED between you and your God, and your SINS have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (The prophets clearly teach that God’s Laws are so perfect that man cannot keep them. Instead of becoming a means of access to God, they reveal how far short man falls of God’s holiness. The animal sacrifices were instituted in recognition of man’s inability to keep God’s Laws.)
The Third Law gives us the only answer to this dilemma.
THE MESSIAH IS GOD’S ONLY PROVISION FOR MAN’S SIN. THROUGH HIM YOU CAN KNOW GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Cain and Abel! --A Lamb for a man Passover -- A Lamb for a family Yom Kippur – A Lamb for a nation Messiah –the Lamb for all the world Psalm 40:6-8; Isaiah 49:5-6; Isaiah 52:13, 53:12; John 1:29
Messiah is from the Hebrew Moshisch meaning anointed. Translated from Greek it is Christ.
HOW
Leviticus 17:11 “…I have given IT to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh an ATONEMENT for the soul.”
WHO
Isaiah 53:5-8 “But HE was wounded for our transgressions, HE was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon HIM; and with HIS stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on HIM the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and HE was afflicted, yet HE opened not HIS mouth: He is brought as a LAMB to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so HE openeth not HIS mouth….for HE was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was HE stricken.” (Isaiah is speaking here of one who was to die for his people, the Jews.)
GODS SON BECOMES A LAMB
WHEN
Daniel 9:26 “…shall Messiah be cut off (killed), but not for HIMSELF: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary….” (This destruction of Jerusalem came
in 70 A.D. under Titus of Rome, thus Messiah had to come and be killed before that event.)
WE MUST RECEIVE MESSIAH JESUS AS SAVIOR AND LORD BY PERSONAL INVITATION
MESSIAH MUST BE RECEIVED BY PERSONAL FAITH
Psalm 2:12 “Kiss (reverence) the SON, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their TRUST IN HIM.” (This is from a great Messianic Psalm) . . .
Jesus said, “…in order that all may honor the SON, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father whosent Him. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
WHO IS SITTING ON THE THRONE OF YOUR HEART?
HOW TO RECEIVE THE MESSIAH BY FAITH
Revelation 3:20 (Jesus is speaking) “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him…”
Receiving Jesus* involves commitment of the total person—intellect, emotion and will. The change which follows this initial act may be sudden or gradual according to one’s personality.
*Is there any good reason why you wouldn’t like to RECEIVE Messiah Jesus right now?
*”Jesus comes from the Hebrew word Yeshuah meaning salvation. Hence we understand the Lord’s word given to Joseph regarding Mary, to whom he was engaged: Matt. 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
WHAT TO PRAY AS AN ACT OF RECEIVING CHRIST:
Pray in your own words; God knows your heart and is not concerned with your words, but rather with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:
“Lord Jesus, forgive my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Messiah and Lord. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person you want me to be. Thank you for coming into my life and for hearing my prayer as you promised.”
Did you pray this prayer? Did Jesus come to you?

Therefore, brothers and sisters,
since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
let us draw near to God with a sincere heart
and with the full assurance that faith brings,
having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience
and having our bodies washed with pure water.
